Congratulating our July Members of the Month, Josh and Stephen Claypool

Warriors, join us in congratulating our July Members of the Month, Josh and Stephen Claypool! We asked them to share a little bit about their time here at Mighty Warrior and we hope you enjoy their answers as much as we did!

What’s been your proudest moment at Mighty Warrior?

Josh: Finally broke a sub 3:00 Fran. My first Fran about 8 years ago was over 14 minutes and I almost died. I did it alongside an experienced Crossfitter who finished under 3 minutes and

 made it a goal.

Stephen: Anytime I beat my brother in a workout.

What’s your favorite workout?

Josh: I like the long grueling “Hero” workouts. The ones that send you into that dark place with no end in site.  Don’t get me wrong, it’s no fun in the moment, but I’m addicted to how I feel when it’s over.

Stephen: Big fan of heavy overhead squats

What advice would you give to someone who is hesitant to try Crossfit?

Josh: I’ve told friends that are hesitant to try that if they don’t feel better physically and mentally after 30 days of CONSISTENT CrossFit training that I’ll pay them whatever that month cost them. You’re gonna be sore and stairs are gonna suck in the first week.   A lot of people get sore the first few workouts and think it’s not for them. Grind out 3-5 times a week a month and you’ll see the soreness fades and results come quickly.

Stephen: Get in the door and try it. The first 2 weeks will definitely be the hardest, but after that it’s cake. Everyone in the building will be super supportive.

What’s a fun fact about you that most Warriors might not know?

Josh: Might start training for an Ironman triathlon

Stephen: I am a Bath and Body Works candle enthusiast! (2 for $22)

What’s the next goal you’re looking to achieve?

Josh: Pretty pumped about training for October’s Open and competing in the Masters Division for the first time.

Stephen: Still trying to work off my winter weight lol. Would like to lose 10-15lbs by focusing more on my nutrition.
